TESTIMONIES

A little of my story …..

~ How long since you’ve been a Christian? Well I have been in church since my dad started going when I was 5 or 6 years old, minus my rebellious teenage years but I’d have to say that it would have been when I came back to church when I was 20 that I really began to let Jesus in my life more.

~ What made you come to believe that Jesus is the saviour? Growing up in church it can be a little difficult to not believe, though I have had moments where a thought of doubt has entered my mind, but Jesus has done too much in my life for me not to believe and even during my teenage years I don’t think I ever stopped believing.

~ What is the background you come from before becoming a Christian? My parents divorced when I was young, they were violent alcoholics. I come from a broken family home. During my teenage years I was rebellious, I ran away from home, began to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and marijuana, I suffered from anxiety and depression.

I thank God everyday that im not where I used to be.

~ Why have you remained a follower of Jesus? I look back at my old life and have absolutely no desire to go back to that. Now I want to walk out the life that God has for me and my family.

~ How have you overcome your biggest trials as a believer? With help from our church family and trusting that God is always in control.

~ What bible verse have you turned to the most during your Christian walk?

I cant think of one that has been a constant one in my life, they kind of change weekly/seasonally my one now is Proverbs 31:25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the days to come .

A little of my story …..

~ How long since you’ve been a Christian?

I gave my life to the Lord when I was about 13 at a beach mission for children (CSSM – Scripture       Union).

~ What made you come to believe that Jesus is the saviour?

The love of God flowing through all the leaders of the mission was undeniable.. I had never experienced anything like it before.

~ What is the background you come from before becoming a Christian?

My family were not Christians, though there were a few Christians in my family background – who I’m sure would have been praying for us.

~ Why have you remained a follower of Jesus?

I initially wavered back and forth over the years – walking with the Lord ‘in fits and starts’.

I had no real understanding of the need to be a part of a church and to have other Christians around me for guidance, encouragement and support in prayer.

His Love for me, and others, has always been my hope in a tough world.

~ Since becoming a Christian, what are some of the things you’re most passionate about?

Missions! I know what it’s like to be bought up outside the church and not to understand anything about God or His Word – the Bible.

My desire is to take the hand of everyone I meet and put them into the hand of Jesus..

~ How have you overcome your biggest trials as a believer?

By clinging onto God by my fingernails!!

~ What bible verse have you turned to the most during your Christian walk?

Romans 8:28 ” And we know that God brings good out of everything for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose”

What hope that has given in the depths of despair – that God will bring good out of it. Nothing is ever wasted with God!

A little of my story …..

~ How long since you’ve been a Christian? 4 years in February.

~ What made you come to believe that Jesus is the saviour? Despite being taught about Jesus right throughout my childhood, it just all seemed like a fable to me. My heart softened towards the end of quite a few hard and dark years, to the point where I felt like I was totally empty and couldn’t go on without something big and great changing in my life. Well, Jesus was that change, and boy was it a BIG one!

~ What is the background you come from before becoming a Christian? I was raised in a Catholic family, so I was always taught and raised with biblical values. Problem was all I saw was religion and a dead god. I stopped going to Church in my early teens. My life took tumble after tumble which lead me into depression and a chronic drug addiction.

~ Why have you remained a follower of Jesus? You know that emptiness I mentioned? Well I’ve never felt that since I invited Jesus into my life. Nothing like putting the right thing in your God-hole (heart)!

~ Since becoming a Christian, what are some of the things you’re most passionate about? Definitely seeing Kids and the Youth being introduced to a very real, loving and powerful God.

~ How have you overcome your biggest trials as a believer? A great support network. Mentors, friends in the Church family and a big God that believes in me more that I believe in Him.

~ What bible verse have you turned to the most during your Christian walk? John 17:3, Ezekiel 36:26, John 8:32
